Tips When Buying
- Match the clay’s firing range (cone) to the kiln you will use.
- Start with 25 lb / ~12.5 kg of a forgiving mid-range stoneware.
- Factor delivery cost — clay is dense; local collection is often cheapest.
- Many community studios sell their house clay at good prices and can fire for you.
- For wheels specifically, see our sister site BestPottersWheel.com.
